David Mann presents an hour of relaxing sounds every week on Radio Wymondham. The music ranges from songs written a hundred years ago right up today, but with the accent on classics from ‘The Great American Songbook’, performed by singers such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole, while classics from the past are given a new twist by current performers such as Michael Bublé and Diana Krall. But we don’t ignore British stars either, with Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams, Matt Monro and a host of others performing over the series. The shows also feature relaxing instrumental sounds from names like Henry Mancini and Nelson Riddle, as well as the ‘Sounds Easy Symphonette’. We touch on the lighter side of jazz and latin rhythms sometimes too, and each show features a track from Bing Crosby in the weekly ‘Crosby Corner’. If you remember the ‘Sounds Easy’ shows presented by the late Alan Dell on BBC Radio 2, then you’ll certainly feel at home with this revived series here on Radio Wymondham.
